12th August 2014, the first working day for the students of AIKTC after the orientation week.
The students were told to bring 30 matchboxes each (without matchsticks) with a human model of themselves made out of filecard to a scaled down version of 1:10
The students were told to bring 30 matchboxes each (without matchsticks) with a human model of themselves made out of filecard to a scaled down version of 1:10
We started by imagining ourselves in place (a place in which we would feel comfortable) then we were asked to imagine a space in that place which we would like to have, and the we were to make that space with those match boxes.
We were then asked to place our human model on that space and check whether it would be proportionate or not. If it was not proportionate then it had to be redesigned taking into consideration the size of the model, and then place our human model on it.
This exercise showed us the importance of Scale and Proportion.
The next exercise was to create a tall structure using the 30 match boxes. The structure was supposed to be as tall as possible.
This exercise showed us the importance of a strong base, stability and a foundation.
For the next exercise, we were divided into groups of 3.
For this exercise, we had listed down social/work places and then from those we had to select a place of our own liking and then accordingly give an occupation to our models. then we had to create the scene of that place with our models in it.
A crime scene with a dead victim, a detective, and an accused(the one with tied legs).
